We are upgrading Nhoma Camp. We used to have only 5 small safari
tents and are now putting the existing tents on decks and building 5
additional large decks for large double meru tents that will have
their bathrooms fixed to the tent: no more going out of the tent to
the bathroom at night! The existing tents will still have their
bathrooms outside of the tent, but you'll only have to open the back
zip to get to it. We have already enlarged the dining area. Thatch
is bought from the //nhoq'ma villagers and they are also helping to
build the camp.
The airstrip is finished and the coordinates are as follows:
S19deg14min14sec and
E020deg14min10sec. Elevation 3790ft.
Surface:12 meters wide, it’s only graded, not gravelled, but the surface is not soft. We maintain it so that there aren’t any holes or termite hills. It’s unfenced, but there are few animals around. Length: 1000m The headings are 09/27.The runway runs parallel to the road going to Nhoma and is maybe 20 to 30 meters north of the road and one km from the camp which should be visible on the dune to the east.
